Hey all, I have microsoft office 60 day trial on my laptop... I was thinking of deleting it. I don't have any plans in the near future to purchase the program, and it keeps wanting to open documents by default. All you geekers, what do you recommend? Is it a big deal if I remove the program? Is the best way to go through add/remove programs? Thanks, lol, this has been bugging me for a while.

No, it should be fine to remove, I did that with my toshiba laptop that I got back in January. I don't know that you will be able to remove all the crap from your programs menu, but you can easily remove the apps by the conventional add/remove programs option within your control pannel.

And, this shouldn't affect your other applications once it is uninstalled. I was using microsoft works without any dificulty after the uninstalation. I also remember someone on another forum saying they were able to run corell's products without any issues after the office uninstall. Sorry for making this 2 messages and I hope this helps answer your question!

Hi.
You can take all the crap that came with your laptop of because you'll never need 99% of it. The only usefull thing that i have seen on a laptop comes on toshibas, which lets you edit the bios from with in windows, getting round a major acsessabilitty issue.
As a side note, may i direct anyone who can not afford office that wants to open office documents to openoffice.org, where you can download open office for windows, an open source (free) office program that is compatable with microsofts sweet.
BEN.
